PM Modi Sets New Record with 103-Minute Independence Day Speech

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made history by delivering the longest Independence Day speech ever from the Red Fort, lasting an impressive 103 minutes. This marks the longest address given by any Prime Minister in India's history.

Starting at 7:33 AM and concluding at 9:16 AM, Modi's speech surpassed his previous record of 98 minutes set in 2024.

With this achievement, PM Modi has now delivered his 12th consecutive Independence Day speech from the Red Fort, placing him just behind Jawaharlal Nehru, who holds the record with 17 addresses.

Modi first broke the record in 2015 with an 88-minute speech, which exceeded Jawaharlal Nehru's 72-minute address from 1947.

In his inaugural address from the Red Fort in 2014, Modi spoke for 65 minutes, followed by a 96-minute speech in 2016.

The shortest of his addresses occurred in 2017, lasting around 56 minutes. He spoke for 83 minutes in 2018, 92 minutes in 2019, and 90 minutes in 2020.

In subsequent years, his speeches lasted 88 minutes in 2021, 74 minutes in 2022, and 90 minutes in 2023.
